Power outlet ring LED

I got the #74 leds to replace the various small leds throughout the interior but the power outlet ring has me stumped. I successfully broke the stock bulb and got the pieces out but the metal contacts are on the narrow sides of the led base in the socket rather than the larger flat sides.

What have you guys done to get an led bulb to work in this spot? As of now there is no connection between the socket and led. Maybe I'm missing something obvious?

So you didn't have to do anything special to make it work? The 74 led fits fine but the contacts are all 90 degrees off.

I'm pretty sure the cigarette outlet bulb is not replaceable. As in it's molded into the plastic behind it.

Yep, ran into the same problem. Cig lighter outlet bulb is not replaceable with LED. Mines now broken after I tried. I plan to get a new molded bulb from Toyota ($5) and try a red 'condom" over it

Well damn, it's not going to work without modification. You can see here how nothing lines up.

The led replacement chart shows that a 74 led works for this but apparently does not. Maybe its an 01-02 issue?

Honestly. It's not worth it. The OEM bulb is molded into the socket. And removing the OEM bulb results in breaking it. It can be done probably with modification. But like I said. The original bulb isn't really replacible. I'd just get a different color condom of ebay.
