Power Outlet

I leave my Sirius power adapter plugged into the center console power outlet. When the car is off the radio is off but I'm just worried that leaving it in might be draining the battery. I only thought of this because in the manual, regarding the headlights, it says that leaving the headlights in the on position will drain the battery if left for a long time even though the lights turn off automatically.

Am I being paranoid?

The drain will be smaller compaired to headlights, but the drain is still there. Even when the radio is powered off, the adapter itself will draw a small amount of current.

Depends upon how long you're leaving it plugged in without starting the 4Runner. Starting (and running will recharge the battery).

If its just overnight or maybe a weekend you probably ok. But if it's for weeks at a time between starts, I would unplug.

There is a relay behind the fuse block that controls the DC to the power outlet. When the ignition is off the relay is off and there is no power at the outlets.

There is a whole thread about bypassing the relay so the power is always on.
