Power stearing pump issue

Ok everyone Im new here so I midas well start with a problem post.
I have a 95 4runner v6 4x4. I recently replaced the power stearing presure line and pump. Now it will on occasion puke the fluid out of the cap. When I received the pump from the scrap yard the module that the two vacume lines were attaced to was broken, the same thing was broken on the old one. The scrap yard guy told me to just cap the lines. Could this be the problem and what is the part called

That "module" is a vacuum valve that acts to increase the idle rpm's when the PS is being strained (such as at full lock) to overcome the strain on the system. If you dont use it you need to plug the vacuum hoses that go to it.

Your problem may be that you have a lot of air in the PS system and it needs to be bled.
With the engine running and cap off of the reservoir, turn the steering wheel from lock to lock repeatedly and the air should work it's way out.

That is correct, it raises the rpms when in full lock.

You should jack up the front end, get both front tires off the ground, top off the fluid and turn the wheel left to right over and over and over to get the air out of the system.

It could also be a junk yard part gone bad too. Sounds like a movie title. LOL
