Power Steering Pump Pressure Hose Bolt--frozen

Hey

I thought I would rebuild my 93 PS pump while I wait for my heads to come back from the machine shop. Heads need a few new valves. There are some minor cracks between the valve seats so they are getting pressure tested.

Anyhow, as for the pump I just need to disconnect the pressure and return hoses and out she comes.

The bolt connecting the pressure hose to the pump is being a real ****.

The bolt will barely turn but the hose and locking (rear) nut turn as well.

Any ideas? Heat it up? Cut the hose off and buy a new one.? Leave the pump alone.

is it the banjo bolt?
dont heat unless you plan on putting all new seals in.
might want to get another one from the scrap yard just in case but i would try to get it off and if you fail or break something youll have the scrapyard one.

BV, ya it is the banjo bolt. And yes I plan on buying the seal kit and rebuilding it.

This is not my daily driver so I can let it sit if I need to go find a new pump.

Ok, got the **** out.

Cut the low pressure hose. Took off the reservoir. Blow torched the banjo bolt and put a wrench on the rear lock nut and used a 1/2" breaker bar. She busted loose.

Let the rebuild begin.
