power vs. milage

Took my 07 4runner in for a Nav system install today. My runner has but 1457 miles on the odo. The loaner they gave me was a 07 also with a bit over 5k on the odo but had a LOT more power plus the tranny shifted a lot quicker and smoother . Did you guys notice a power increase as your trucks broke in? Just curious and a bit disapointed now in mine, not that there's much I can do about it.

Is it V-8 or V-6? Either way, let it idle and notice where RPMs are at idle. I suspect new one idles higher, therefore might feel quicker untill it brakes in and run smoother.

It might be my imagination, but I think my V8 is just a little more responsive with higher octane gasoline in it.

Other than that, I don't know, as my V8 has always felt very strong.

It's a V6. Idles around 550-600. It is not my imagination. I actually thought mine ran good and strong until I drove the loaner. Oh well sometime there's an engine that's just better than the others. Mine may be normal and the loaners just one of the strong ones. I'll never know. I noticed the loaner also seems to get better gas mileage but I probably won't have it long enough to make a fair comparison on that subjuct.
