PP Coils vs. Daystar?

i know the PP coils are only said to be +1 and the daystar is 2.5 but from searching i've seen where the plus one lift an '01 limited over an inch. the price for both is basically the same so i'm wondering what you guys think i should go with?

also what would the height difference be with the PP coils vs. the 99 4wd coils?

I just installed the Daystars and measured an additional 2" at each fender. (Went from 36" to 38" -- from the ground to the fender)

To me the coils vs. spacers questions is a tough one for you 2wd, non offroading type. One one hand you don't really need the coils for the simple fact that its mainly gonna see street use, on the other hand spacers harshen up the ride some and tend to augment the sagging rear springs of the 4Runner.

Coils will cost more, but you are also not gonna have to worry about the sagging rear end. And should you ever decide to do some wheelin you will be better off with the coils. I will list my opinion on all your options, from my first choice, to last.

1. OME coil lift from Toytec. I have this lift with my stock shocks and it doesn't ride bad at all. I gained about 2-2.5" from this lift I believe, but you would probably gain more. They also have all the coils in stock so you could call them and get something closer to a 2" lift.

2. 99 4WD coils. These should probably give you about a 2" lift as well, will be relatively easy to get a hold of and cost shouldn't be too bad. You may still have to deal with the sagging problem later on...

3. PP springs. Probably also give you close to 2" lift, and are said to never sag. These are commonly out of stock and PP is kind of a crappy company to deal with at times.

4. Daystar spacer kit. Affordable lift, easy to come by. Harshen up your ride and should be used primarily for looks only. If you haven't seen it, Kregg has a daystar kit for sale in the classifieds section for $100.

i do some light off-roading but its nothing extreme, mostly mud and trails. thru pricing items its 300 for the pp coils, 240 for the daystar new, and 550 for the 4wd coils/new shocks from Sonoran Steel. From other research i've read all spacer lifts give you around the same front lift which is what i want since it does sit a slight bit lower in the front.

I really think all 3 would be good for me, but like you said the 4wd coils would cause sag later on and most expensive...

daystar would add to the sag in rear, but since i dont tow and the rear looks good now, i think daystar would probably give me what i want.

the pp coils i have heard are stiff, and i dont want my ride to linger to far off from stock, and like you said they are usually out of stock and are hard to deal.

i'm swaying toward the daystar lift but there is so many options i hope you guys can see why i'm having a hard time picking the right one out.

Just buy the '99 OEM coils which seem to be the best and most cost effective fit for your needs. I think you can do the OEM coils for under $300 and you'll have a stock OEM ride. Or you could find them used since it is a frequent item swapped out on
'99s when people want even bigger.

You'll be sitting at close to if not at 36" all around which is a considerable jump for an '02 2wd.

do you still have that picture of your truck next to like a blueish 4runner ron? i remeber seeing it somewhere and how much taller yours looked

this guy on cardomain has the 3'inch revtek lift which looks pretty good to me. he said it also rides good.

Don't know about the sag in the rear.

Mine's a '97 SR5 4wd. It's always sat level. Although, the rear would bottom-out with two people in the back seat (going over speed bumps).

I added the Airlift 1000's about 5 years ago and never had that issue again.

Dunno...just lucky maybe (or I don't carry enough weight in the Runner? )

see my rear actually sits up higher in the back then front.

would 99 coils lift and even it out a little more, or would it sit like it does not, just higher
