I was looking for a good value reliable upgrade from my sti so I bought a 98 Prado. Not sure if I belong in the Lexus GX category or the gen 3 4runner category.. Probably somewhere in the middle. Located Calgary AB. 5vz-fe. Imported a 4500lb hitch from Australia (where i'm from) as I didn't think i'd find one locally.

60,000km's $9000 :biggrin2:

Please don't move me to the 'other vehicles' category with the Honda Odysseys and Cadillacs :puke:

A '98 Prado will be a 90 series platform, the first GX's were on the 120 platform, so it's not quite the right section, but likely the best fit, lol. Neat looking truck, post some more pics of the exterior, and interior!

Not sure if they still offer them, but those SAT/NAV screens were also installed with a TV antenna. My Surfs came with them originally (apparently they were stolen at the pier before I got them).

Just got it registered and on the road, found some used sequoia summer rims on Kijiji so bumped up to 18" from the standard 16s :)

You took off both sets of AUX lights huh? Looks a lot cleaner up front without them. Are those BBS wheels?

Those look like the BBS wheels that are offered on the Sequya and the Tundras. Nice truck. I'm in Romania right now on vacation and I have already seen 3 of these, soooo jelous we don't have these in the US.

Lights came off to make sure they didn't cause an issue for inspection. They're back on now mainly to keep the garage tidy...

now i'm looking at what I can do with the weird fancy japanese radio/MD/DVD NAV screen (NMCT-D50). There's audio/video jacks near the gear shift so i'll see if it can take iphone output.

other special feature - the 'radiation inspected sticker' .... don't want any of those post-tsunami gamma rays
