Pre-purchase Inspection...

Yet another newbie here with a question...

I put my deposit down this week to have a 2005 4Runner (options listed below) shipped to my local dealer from North Carolina. Expected arrival time of 6-9 days from today. My question is if there are any issues I should be looking for during my inspection. I've heard that the undercoating included with the mandatory Toyoguard option is sometimes not allowed to dry properly and can get onto the sides of the car (a real pleasure to clean from what I've read). Is there anything else I should be looking for? BTW, this is my first new car purchase for what it's worth. Thanks in advance.

Tell the dealer NOT to wash the car. Inspect it before it's washed for a couple of reasons. Wash it yourself, I know how they wash cars at dealers (brush on a stick and a bucket). and this way you can inspect the finish before they "buff out" any flaws. Toyoguard is not mandatory, it's a Southeast Toyota option, dealers push it for the profit and for dealer bonuses from S.E.T.(not on mine). They use nylon spotter to remove Toyoguard, it wipes right of. Enjoy it!
