I searched the forum and didn't really find what I was looking for, so I am asking my question here:
I am just under 100,000 miles and I bought new EBC Green stuff brake pads and am very unimpressed, they will barely make it to 20,000 miles and they dust heavily. I thought people were exaggerating, but 1-2 days after cleaning the wheel it is already covered in brake dust again, these pads were a waste of money, no good reason to spend the extra money on them, when they perform as well as the super cheap pads.
The pads previously on my vehicle before the EBC Green performed well and lasted over 30,000 miles(at least), I bought my 4runner used from the dealership, but I think they were OEM pads.
From what I gathered on the forum there were 3 recommendations:
1. Hawk
2. EBC Yellow/Green
3. OEM
I read that the EBC yellow, dust heavily and that the Hawk and OEM were good pads. I am looking for good stopping power and longevity for everyday driving. I am going to rebuild the calipers and put new pads and rotors on as well.
If you have experience with a specific set of pads that provide good stopping power and extended longevity, please let me know, I don't need any "I heard" or "a friend of mine" posts. Thanks!
