Preventative maintenance when dropping tansmission pan?

I plan on dropping the pan because the drain plug got stripped and just spins in the hole, with a very small fluid leak. I will replace the filter but is there anything else that would be a good idea, solenoids or whatever?

First, try re tapping. I have had the same issue and I was able to re tap and use a new OEM plug. Search the forum, there is info on what size tap to use.

if yours is like mine, the filter is cleanable, but in my opinion not much of a filter, its basically a screen. So when I did my trans cooler I also put in a disposable in line filter...magnafine.... I for get the part number

just clean everything good. original is silicone tube type gasket for the pan, but I have read that some people prefer the napa pan gasket

and watch your torque on reassembly, I easily stripped one of the pan bolts ( not the drain plug)
