Previous Owner ran over paint

I've had my '97 for a few months now and I've been living with this, but now I want to do something about it. The previous owner must have run over some white paint with the passenger side tires. There is paint splatter all inside the wheel wells on that side.

Those of you with experience, what should I do to get rid of it? I thought some kind of paint remover would ruin the inside of the wheel wells. Should I lightly wet sand it out and then apply some sort of protectant or paint? What would be my best solution? The 4Runner is black so the white paint is a bit of an eye sore.

Probably the best bet is going to be sanding it and repainting the wheel wells like you said. Paint thinner shouldn't hurt it but I doubt you will get much help from it either. That paint is made to last a looooong time under really harsh conditions. When I did detail every once in a while we would have a car come in with that paint on that the people wanted removed. For the most part we were unable to get it all off.

i have used lacker(can't spell) thinner and that got it off in a heartbeat when i was workin at mazda

My dad ran over some paint (in his two month old MDX) that the city put down on a freshly paved road. If it is from the lines on the road, he called the city and they had something that took it off no problem. A few years have passed and it has had no effect on the MDX's paint.

Just google Graffiti Removal Products , I work for the City here and thats what they use . Cant recall the exact name of the stuff .


Ok I remember now ,the stuff is made by a company called ETS
