OK, to go along with my other question, am I prewired for trailering? I have an OEM hitch to throw up there and I sww the plug h/u already under the bumper in the rear so I'm wondering if it's prewired for a trailer? Just add hitch, ball & go?
Is the brake controller hookup what the wire and connector that is in the glove box is for. It shows you hooking it up to some wires under the dash but I did not know what it was for. Are you saying that the socket in the rear by the trailer hitch is hot and ready to go for normal towing without adding anything else?
Yup - the harness in the glove compartment plugs right in behind your drivers side kick panel. You will need to wire that harness to the harness (supplied with your brake controller) that plugs into your brake controller. Wiring instructions should come with your brake controller.
The trailer lights receiver at your bumper is live whether or not you install a brake controller. Once you install the brake controller, all 7 pins become utilized to activate the lights AND the electric trailer brakes.
