Price for 04 Limited 4X4 V8 w/nav, X-Reas

Today, I ordered a a mica blue 04 Limited 4X4 with a V8, tan interior, Nav, X-Reas, side curtain air bags, spoiler and cargo tray. The dealer is unsure whether the order will be accepted, as they said most Limiteds in California don't have X-Reas and are unsure is the factory will allow it to be built.

I drove a sport today with X-reas and noticed some benefit. I figure for $350, it is worth having.

The price they gave me without tax and license is $39,200. The dealer said that price is about $700 over their cost, a deal I get through the Autoclub of Southern CA. Anyone have any feelings about this price?

Also, does the Nav radio automatically come with a changer? Or is that an option?

hmmm 39k sounds a little steep.

i got mine for 38k with tax and license however without XREAS.

regarding the nav, I don't know anyone who has the changer combo with it. most dealers don't even know how to install them together.

i saw an 03 with nav and a changer in the center consol. does the head unit have a button to access a changer? or i mean, is it changer ready?

if you go on the website and build one, the changer is an option for $0. what a great deal. no mr. salesperson... i don't want the free changer.

Congratulations. Sounds like we ordered the same vehicle. My Mica V8 Limited should be in this week! Here in New England you can't get a V8 Limited without the X-reas. In fact , you can't get them without any of the big options if you order the Nav unit. The only thing I could eliminate were the mats (getting all-weather anyway) and the cargo net option.

I paid $150 under invoice for it.

I wouldn't waste might time with the changer. I bought my 03 about 6 months ago, I'm already considering changing the h/u due to its lack of power. Yes the changer is integrated into the dashboard.

I just bought my 2004 Limited V8 4x4 this past friday. I paid 37,978 before tax/registration. Build date of truck was 10/03.

In looking at the invoice the invoice price is $37,991. This included TDA fee of $638 and delivery/processing/handling fee of $540.

MSRP was $42,178 and included the NV,SR,GY,RF,CF, and WL. No X-Reas or air suspension.

OTD was $41300 with CA DMV and Tax $3322.
.
Oh yea, it had a $995 (MSRP) "Gold Package" installed by the dealer increasing MSRP to $43,173. . What B.S. They pulled out some handwritten sheet showing invoice to be $38500 with the "Gold Package". I told them I was uninterested in the pimp daddy gold plating and if they wanted some money on it I would be walking. So, in essence I got $200 bucks worth of gold plating free.

Did I feel I got a good deal. Maybe, Maybe not. I do feel that I wasn't taken to the cleaners and I guess thats what matters most. Ooops, what matter most was getting 97% of a Lexus GX470 for 80% of the price. hehehe

$150 under was $38760 for a V8 Limited with everything - except the mats and the headphones. I picked it up this afternoon. I love this truck! And there is no changer with the nav.

well your deals looks better, but i don't mind the $500 i guess.

someone just said the nav head unit is a changer. i don't think it is. the one i saw had the disc and casette behind the touch screen and also a 6 disc changer in the center consol.

noone seems to know the answer to that one.

I asked about the changer when I picked mine up yesterday. The best the saleman could offer was that some have it, some don't and those that do have it in the console. I'd rather have the console storage thank you.

thanks for the update. i think i would rather have the storage too. well if mine comes with one, it comes with one. and if it doesn't, i don't mind.

i have about 4.5 weeks to wait for the build and delivery. i don't see how any car company can build and deliver a car in 5 weeks, but we'll see.

4-1/2 weeks for build and delivery from Japan? Wow. Here in Nashua, NH. I was told it would take 3 mo. to get one if ordered as a special build.

yeah i was thinking on those lines too. is the dealer promising something they can't deliver on purpose? possibly so they don't lose a customer?

If the local Cali dealers don't have what you're looking for, I'd suggest going out of state. It's very easy to buy from Arizona and the paperworks is a piece of cake! You should look into that option if AZ is close to you.

I bought a few cars in AZ (I'm in LA btw) and it was very easy. Since I was already pre-approved with my own loan, all I had to do was write the check out to the dealers name and put my down and I was on my merry way.

Arizona dealers can check nationwide to find your 4runner so just because Cali doesn't have it, doesn't mean it's all over.

I have no idea why Cali dealers don't check out of state for inventory but they are losing out on business.

Give it a shot (try the online internet fleet department). Email them with the spec you want and they'll locate one for ya. If they can't then they'll give you a timeline of how long it'll take. Also make sure you tell them that you're from Cali and have no problems going to other dealers elsewhere to find the truck (this way they'll go out of their way to find the truck you want!)
