Price your rig

I bought my 4runner for 6,300 with 213k. It seemed to be in perfect condition; however, that was not the case. Soon after I bought it, I found it that it would randomly stall while idling. Took me about 700 dollars to fix it. I started replacing random parts such as the IACV, MAF sensor, cleaned the throttle body, spark plugs, etc (the list goes on). It turned out to be the engine coolant temp sensor, the wires were damaged.

I have at least 7200$ into the vehicle. I would probably sell it for around 6000. I think market value on it would be around 5500 on the high end and 5000 on the low end.

My 4runner now has 219000 miles! I bought it on 3/06/2017. I'm pretty happy with the usage that it sees.

It's a 4x4, automatic with rear diff lock, tires are 265/75/16 rugged terrains. Interior is about a 8.5/10 and exterior is now probably a 7.5/10 (somenpin striping from the trails).

That's me, i'm not even close to being done with it. My original plan was to pass it onto my son who is only 7, but next to my son its my 2nd love. Those two together make me care NOT what I've been through or will go through. I do feel though by 8 more years I won't be legally able to drive, so it'll be a perfect Freshman in High-school vehicle. :)
 
On a actual note of value for my vehicle, I had someone ask me what I would sell it for and I said honestly not a drop under 25k. After I said that I cursed myself because I wouldn't let it go for more than a brand new off the lot vehicle with ALL aftermarket parts so ...50-60K? The guy who asked wasn't shocked or anything. Asked questions about who did the work, what else I've done, etc and said he could see paying 15k for mine with out a hesitation. Glad I said 25k at the first, now I say, "50-60K and no OBO."
 
I hate doing this because people's bias' come out over their own trucks when naming a price, but mine all depends on where I go to sell it. My truck is from NJ/PA originally and down here in AZ I feel like I might have a hard time getting what I want out of it.

That being said, I think I could probably get $8,000-$9,000 for it fairly easily as it sits.
 
I'm realistic when it comes to my vehicles. Bought her for $5200. Now has 280k miles. KBB has her at $2k. I would take no less than $5k which would be hard I bet due to mileage.
 
Have had my 96 since 2000, well maintained and modded 360k mi, needs clear redone.
bought 01 end Feb, neighbor stops by asks want to sell 96, told him all about it, I said $6k would get it. He didn't blink an eye then I crawfished said naw.
96 has been in MS. whole life no rust at all. 3'rd gens are popular as hell people want them.
 
to clarify, no one is asking anyone to sell their rig, so for the people saying they wouldn't sell, I guarantee you would take 50k for your truck. I'm just asking how valuable your truck is to you and also the realistic value of your truck

To me: Someone hands me cash value of what I put into it (excluding wear items like tires, brakes, oil changes, Gas)... they can have it. At this point, it would be about 7.5K. I wouldn't shed a tear.
 
My bad, forgot what you initial posting was asking.
My value = I've sold things in the past that I lived to regret.

Realistic value = KBB & NADA don't consider market trends on the whole.
My experience has shown me a sucker is born every day.
So I don't have a answer for that.
 
I'd like to think I could get 10K for this. New owner wouldn't have to replace anything as far as maintenance goes, it's ready to rock and roll and the body/frame is clean as a whistle.

Realistically I would probably get 6k as is.

Where I live you could get 10K no problem.

Speaking of manuals...

I'd want 10k for mine. Realistically...6-7? After locker retrofit...probably more as the unicorn factor would be multiplied.
 
So that M&M in Craigslist is in my state. They take people's vehicles and assist in selling or purchase it outright and re-sell (may be partly why its the price it is).

So in regards to my honest price I could get 13k for it as it sits. It can go anywhere, no mechanical issues, everything kept up and I try to avoid trees to my best ability or fix when I kiss one :) So in your request, I hope this answers it. And if you haven't seen my rig, its one of 5 now (used to be 3) in the Pacific Northwest :)
