Priestsallore's build thread

Ok ya'll, so I will officially start a build thread for my rig. It may be just a hair slow though for a little.

First things first, I tried to look up info.off the search but some things I didn't find through tapatalk, and I'll recheck yotatech when I'm home, but I had a few questions. As ya'll know, in 4 weeks I ship out and was planning on taking the 3.slo out.

Well, I am actually.going to.scrap the 350 idea due to limited time and funds. I'm deciding whether to swap for a 3.4 or keep the 3.0 & completely.rebuild it as well as the tranny, with all aftermarket plugs, wires, and clutches.

I love the idea of the 3.4 trd with the supercharger, and read up on yotatech that it bolts to the 3.0 motor mounts, transmission, etc. with a 2in body lift, & I can reuse the 3.0 compressor with.the 3.4 plate, etc. I had a few other questions.. I know I need the comp obviously for the 3.4, but could I use the wiring harness from the 3.0, or do I need it from the 3.4, & if so, would I need any mods to make it work? Also, reuse the 3.0 heater, etc? What all would I need to mod or change to work the 3.4, & how much of a difficulty would it be to do? Anyone done the swap on here? Anyone also have an engine & sc for sale?

Also, I want to repaint my rig white, anyone know anyone who can do it for me around SA or nearby?

I am getting.everything started within the next 4-6 weeks, and I want everything I need to know for when I start it. And anyone willing to join in the.build, let me know, as.I'll be at Keasler AFB for awhile as well.

Quite a few years ago I would've been able to help, as I lived in Biloxi for a while (my sister was stationed at Keesler). Nowhere near there now, though. Looking forward to your build, whether you go for the 3.4 or the Chevy--I'm curious to see where you go with it. Keep us posted, and best of luck down in tourist-town (keep an umbrella handy, and the A/C charged)!

I just read it all. It looks quite easy, but I'd have to figure out how to do some of it as he's talking about, one being the wiring harness.

Idk, should I mod a hood scoop, or buy the body lift?

& Yes buck, I'm planning on doing the 3.4 swap instead of the 350, if I don't deside to just keep my 3.slo and rebuild her completely. As much as I'd LOVE the power output from the 350 it's much less hassle with the 3.4, and with the 350 I'd have to slowly tweak it and figure **** out on the fly basically over months and months. Besides, I think the 3.4 would give me the pwoer I need especially with the supercharger, with ALOT better MPG that I'd look for.

How long/hard would you think this conversion would be? I have an idea, but being that I'm going to have my buddy help me do the swap, It'll cost me quite a bit in labor as well, as while I'm gone, he will be doing a bit of it too.

OK, so here is my list for my build thread, mostly in order (some are not):

- 3.4L supercharger swap (if anyone has the engine and supercharger with an ecu and wiring harness for sale PLEASE pm me or text me.)
- Repaint her white (again, if anyone knows how to or knows anyone who can PLEASE pm me, I'll pay you/your buddies)
- Lift, roughly 3-4"
- 33's or 35's ( ?? don't know which yet.)
- Buy a replacement drivers seat and passenger mirror (if you have both in great or nearly great condition PLEASE pm me)
- new carpet for the front, it's ripping a tad on the drivers seat.
- custom tube prerunner/stinger bumpers (AGAIN, if anyone knows anyone or can build me some, PLEASE pm me)
- going to buy the new Euro red/white tail lights soon
- Halogen headlights
- new wiper arms/washer spray heads, etc.
- new windshield
-new windows possibly or just new motors and all the window rubbers, etc.
- finish my audio in the truck, renew the rear 4 speakers and buy a bigger amp for them, put in 2 12" subs
- build a gun rack
- custom center console
- new guages
- 4.88 gears potentially, as I'm already running 4.56s.
- roof rack
-fog lights
- build a battery carrier underneath the truck for 2-4 additional battery usages.
- snorkel

These will no longer be my "pipe dreams" as I am going to start all of it, though some will be a slow process, so I'll try to update this thread as much as I can during all the builds, and take multiple pictures. As I said, if anyone can do paint jobs or knows family/friends who can do that, or has the items I can buy that I'll need, please pm me or shoot me a text. To anyone that wants to take part in this soon-to-be awesome build, feel free to swing by.

I'm going to seek sponsorships from a few companies, to gather the additional funds to do this project, and will showcase for them if they do sponsor.

I vote for fabbing a scoop into your hood. It'll look badass, and I think body lifts have too many compromises. Let us know how the deal with the sponsors goes, if it works I'll do that too. :D

Never know, there are millions of unused sponsorships that go unused each year.

And thank you. Thought I'd start my build thread, since I will be starting in the next few weeks.

@ KidV, you vote the scoop instead? Andysautosport sells a hood scoop for the runner.

There's probably 50 million places to get a sheet metal or fiberglass scoop. I'd do louvers too, just because that big engine is likely to create more heat in that tiny little space...

Yes SJC, looks like it is a decently easy swap.

OK so far, my updates for sponsors are as follows:

- Uecker Automotive & Marine down here in San Antonio, TX

Major leads that I might have by the end of the week:

- Kicker Audio
- Prestige Automotive Concepts
- CBI Off-road
- Rides Under the Influence

Will keep updated.

Sally is ready to be worked on.

If any of our sponsors of T4R read this or business owners would like to sponsor please pm me. All work on the truck will start in the next 4 weeks.

Most of the time when ya do engine swaps with efi ya have to swap wires and ecu ... I'm helping a buddy of mine go from a 2.9 to a 4.0 in a broncoII .. but I'm interested in how your swap goes may give me some ideas for the future being mine is already on 35 though I've yet to really drive it due to I kinda gotta fix it first I'm sure its a bit sluggesh.. I already plan on gearing it for the tires but a lil extra h.p. has never hurt no one.

Should I keep the 3.0 & upgrade my clutch, heads, & all?

Build starting soon. Full sponsor with prestige automotive concepts is about a done deal.

If you're going to all the trouble of acquiring sponsors, I wouldn't even consider keeping the same engine. At the least, do the 3.4 swap. Adding parts to the 3.0 for the miniscule gains you'll get is kind'a like putting a Jessica Alba costume on a pig--it's still a pig, no matter how pretty the facade is.

Not all of us want to buy a Chevy and put a toyota body on it. LOL!
