Pro Comps on Duratracs. Checking with a wheel guy.

I've been doing all of my homework on here and want to run this by you guys because I'm trying to visualize what my stock Silver 2011 SR5 will look like before I dump some cash into it...

My first question is how the new wheels I want are going to look and fit with a 3" Ultimate lift kit from Toytec with Light Racing UCA's. The wheels I want are Pro Comp Extreme Alloys Series 7033
# 17X9, 6 on 5.5Bolt Pattern
# Backspace=4.75
# Hub Centric = NO
# Offset = -6mm

I plan on mounting Goodyear Duratrac 285/70/17's.
Bajarack and tint to follow.. Thanks

You shouldn't have any issue with fitment for the wheel/tire combo you want. You will need to trim the fender liner though.

Look for pics from member Mikeys2010SR5, he has different but similar looking wheels (if I remember correctly) and the specs should almost be the same. He is running the exact same tire and has the OW suspension lift. This should help you visualize how your truck will look.

Just my experience with my Pro Comps. I have 2 sets one set on my '95 Bronco and another set on the '10 4Runner. Both sets have balanced perfectly and I don't feel any vibrations. The only problem I have is on the 4Runner - the center caps for the front fit on the wheel hub really snug. They fit but have to be tapped on carefully...the palm of the hand is not quite enough to get the cap to seat. Not really an issue but the front caps fit really tight.

Good choice!

On 1/11 I had 285/70/17 duratracs mounted up to procomp 7005 17x8 0mm offset. Wheel Part#7005-7883.
Honestly the 7033 or ATX Mojave were next in line, and I'd really like to see that wheel mounted up.

Not sure if you've seen the Ballistic wheels yet? They make one called the Jester which they have in 17x9 as well. It might or might not suite your taste, just makin' sure you know about it.

My rig:

side view *so you have a reference point, my coils aren't turned all the way down just yet. when fully cranked i would be approx 1/2" taller. I'm very happy w/ the stance.

side view - ultimate 3" lift w/ silver springs and total chaos uppers - 5100's front and back.
sideview2.jpg

view from right rear - ** w/ the -6 offset and 17.9" I believe you will produde just over an inch further than I do from the outside fender. **wheel/tire experts please correct me if I'm wrong
sideview3.jpg

I've had to trim a good bit, and still have some left to address. I haven't had to "cut" anything on vehicles in at least 10yrs, so I was a bit nervous about trimming. If your not familiar w/ the process, I used sheet metal sheers (agressive scissors - $15 @ ACE Hardware), a utility knife, and dremel wheel to trim/clean things up. If you bump into any issues I'm happy to provide as much additional info as to where I had to cut if you find it necessary to ask.

In approx 1wk of driving my MPG is right at 17.4 - down from 19.8. I'm learning to change up my driving habits a little, as I'm coming from an 05 Accord V6 EX, which is a little quicker... I'm on the highway 90% of the time during the week. I do tend to keep a heavy foot at times though. I'm in Arizona and run my PSI at 40 all around and the ride is very smooth. I'm thinking about bumping my PSI to 45 to see if I gain MPG's. I realize I might wear the tire slightly faster by doing this, if 45 is too much.

As to the tires - I've always owned BFG's A/T or M/T's and have always been happy. I decided to change things up w/ the Duratrac and I'm glad I did. I do get a nice hum from the road but it's nothing I'm not comfortable with, and I this is my daily 400mi/mo vehicle.

Post up pics when you're done w/ the install.

**BTW: If I had it all over to do again, I wouldn't be unhappy w/ a Silver. Your setup will look really good.

And one out having fun...

Specs on the wheels are about the same except the XDs are 9" wide so my offset is a bit different (-12mm to be exact), but the backspacing should be about the same (4.53"). Tint is 18% up front and matched all the way around. Chrome has been blacked out (combo of vinyl on the strips and painted on the grille). Baja Rack is next up once i get my Shrockworks sliders in (has it been 8 weeks yet?). Haven't decided on which bumper to go with yet.

One more just because...

Thanks for the pics Mike and Mag10. Your rigs look awesome! Mike, I'm assuming you had to trim some fender lining too? Mike, are you taking your rocker panels off to throw on those sliders? I've seen some that fit over the factory rockers, but I haven't researched them enough to want a set.
I like the blacked out trim, but I'm only going to black out the toyota grill emblem to be different. One of these days, my little girl will go to grandma's so I can get some stuff done. :-)

OMG that looks awesome!

Definitely had to trim the fender liners. I actually added positive camber with the arms to get away from the body mount. I still need to do a little more to get rid of the last bit of rubbing.

For the Sliders I am actually going to trim down the skirts. That way it wont look unfinished when the sliders are on.

Hey Mag10,

I love those ProComp 7005's. Those are the ones I am saving up for. I was wonder if you could post a few more pics of them? Especially a full view one! I have a 2010 Black Trail and I would love to see how they would look on another Trail!! Also, I am not a fan of cutting so do you think if I put those on 275's I would not need to cut?

Thanks!
