Problem coasting on Highway

Hey all. Went on a little road trip this past weekend and noticed that when I let off the gas on the highway, it seems like it doesn't coast at all. It decelerates pretty quickly. Even when going downhill. Usually you can let off the gas and cruise down it but it slows down. Also doesn't coast at a light much when I let off the gas. Just seems to need a lot more gas pedal effort to get it going. I have been getting bad gas mileage lately and am wondering if this has anything to do with it. Anybody ever had this problem?

Thanks!

I haven't really noticed but I haven't checked. When I get home today I'll take it on the highway for a little bit and then check for that.

Turn over drive off lately?

Same with the overdrive. The light on the dash isn't on. And I try not to turn that off or on. Unless I'm towing. Unless one of those are on/off and the light on the cluster isn't working. I'll check those too when I get home. Damn. Wish I had it with me at work right now!

Ok. So I got home and took it for a ride on the freeway and around town. Came back and didn't notice any one particular side hotter than usual. 4wd is off and so is overdrive. However I did notice a slight shimmy when I hit the brakes. Maybe warped rotors? But I'm thinking that's a whole other problem. So I still have nothing...

Maybe your wheel bearings are going bad? I had that same issue with other vehicle I had and noticed the same thing. But it could be the brake sticking if you are noticing the shimmy... Good luck to you

Chock your front tires, Jack up your rear end, put in neutral, take off parking brake and and see if the tires spin freely.

Come back with results.
