problem with filling gas

I have a 2007 4runner. I am having problem with filling gas: the gas pump keep shutting off when filling up, even when the tank is empty. This used to happen only when I fill up at Costco, but now it's happening at other gas stations too. Any ideas? thanks.

mine does the same thing. I only fill up at Chevron and Texaco. I find that I have to angle the pump just right and hold the handle the entire time. Pain in the ass.

I had the same problem. I read in a few threads that it is very common.

I don't know if it was just a coincidence or whatever, but it actually completely stopped for me since I changed my A/F Sensor that went bad....again, maybe a coincidence, but A/F does stand for Air/Fuel....I also lifted the back of my car around that time, so maybe that helped?

So I'm not giving you a solution, but when was the last time you changed your O2 and/or A/F sensor?
