First off, I want to thank all of you who contribute to this forum I have found it to be very help full.

I am having the following problem. I have an 07 4Runner sport that cam with a JBL single disc changer. I have recently installed a Pioneer AVIC-D3 but the Dash kit I used (from Metra) does not fully cover the sides ( dee below pics).

Does anyone have any suggestion to help me fix this problem?

If there a factory piece that I can order from the non-JBL 4Runner to help this fit?

Again thank you for your help,
Roly

thats the wrong dash kit if i recall..
Or its not mounted correctly..The side profile of the kit looks right, but isnt mounting right...

I think that is the right dash kit... the same I am using with my 2Din head-unit.

To get mine to flush mount I used the factory mounting bracket but not the factory holes in the bracket. It took me a bit to get it to flush mount.

I'm not sure. Mine has a bit of gap. You could try spacing the gap with some washers?

If you find a better dash kit let me know. I think I have the same metra kit.

The problem is the standard radio with a single CD vs. the 6 CD changer radio, the two aren't the same shape. IIRC, the single CD radio is the same as the factory navigation dash bezel, where there would be no gap if used with that dash kit. The 6 CD radio and JBL Synthesis radio comes out almost flush with the silver trim on the bezel, causing gaps when used with the above dash kit.

Metra 95-8210

I'm sorry to bring back up an old thread. But I have the same issue. I have a 2003 4Runner, JBL synthesis, 6 disc changer, w/o navigation. I recently installed the Pioneer D3x package into my 4runner, and there are 2 gaps on both sides of the unit.
I called crutchfield and they ended up are going to send me the above trim kit.

Is that the solution to the gaps on the side problem?
Thank you!

That's the wrong kit. You need the metra kit; Metra 95-8210

Hey what do you mean? I search 95-8210 at crutchfield.com and that product came up. Could you please give me a crutchfield product link (So crutchfield can exchange the wrong one)?
If crutchfield doesn't sell it, could you tell me another place to get it?
Thanks, Paul

That kit from crutchfield is the correct kit. American international also makes a double din kit for the 2003-2008 runna w/6 disc jbl too.

Thanks man, so that is the correct one that I ordered? I'll post some pictures tomorrow of the install and the trim piece. Thanks again!

i was talking to the original poster in this thread, not you; but the kit you bought at crutchfield is the metra 95-8210, which is correct.
