If I had to take a stab at it, there is supposed to be a vacuum line going from the high idle valve to the intake manifold or throttle body. That vacuum line makes it suck back in. I'd be willing to bet that you removed it when putting on the aftermarket intake. If there isn't a vac line coming off of it, just take it off. You live in AZ, you're runner should run fine without it.

I made sure to connect everything how its suppose to go but, I don't know which line you are talking about I'll post a pic of how it is connected and you if you could show me that would be awesome!

So, I just went and looked at my truck. I don't have that black thing on mine. It is used to keep the truck at fast idle when warming up and should return on it's own after the truck is warm. Just a dumb question, but is your coolant full? If there isn't enough coolant, the IAC valve won't see heat, and lower the idle accordingly. If your coolant is full, try spraying some silicone on and around it to see if it's just stuck. If that doesn't work, you may have a bad IAC valve.

Yes its full of coolant I just checked it as we left TGIF lol so what is the IAC stand for? I will go to the dealer tommorrow and see if they got it:girl:

Idle Air Control. Post up what they find. Definitely a weird problem. I've never replaced an IAC valve on a 3.4.

Did you reset the EFI system after installing the K&N CAI???

Something simple to try....


Pull the 20 AMP EFI Fuse ~10 minutes - to reset the EFI system and see if that helps.

Tried it no luck romoved the posi cable on battery to see if it reses the whole system waiting on that...
