I was wonderingh if anyone has any experience with the new Procomp Xtreme M/T. I had decided on Toyo Open Country MT, but I wanted to see if anyone has or know anyone who has, had these tires. Thanks

I was going to post the same question. I found 285 70 17s in the pro comp extreme on ebay for about $900 shipped for the set. I'd really like to fit that under there if possible. Love that tire. anyone running that size have any input about how much cutting it would take to eliminate rubbing over the full suspension travel and steering travel?

I'm torn between exactly these same two tires right now and I'm going to stuff 285/70 R17s under it one way or another. Just have to decide which ones to get.

Does Toyo Open Country M/T make a 285/70/17? I know they make that size for the A/T's. I can't seem to find the M/T's in the 285/70 size. Does anybody know if the M/T's come in this size, and if so, where did you find them?

That sucks. I really like the sidewall lugs on the open country M/T's. I think the 295's would be a bit to big with lots of rubbing, don't you?

I just took Toyo MT 265/70/17 off my Runner and ordered th 295/70/17. I have the standard Cornfed 3/2 lift and am waiting for the 4Crawler Body Lift 1.25" kit to arrive. This will give enough space to squeeze the Toyos in. I absolutely love Toyo and the mods necessary to put them on are worth it instead of getting a lesser tire in 285/70/17 size. My .02.

I can't wait to see what those look like White4runner. Post some pictures when you get those tires on. Would you take some pictures before the body lift and after? That 295 is about 3/8 taller and 3/8 wider than the 285's , I'm guessing.
Yeh, Thai, I was looking at those KM2's. They are pretty nice. Those might be one of my top picks after looking at them, thanks. I'm not really looking to do a body lift any time soon, so the 295's are out of the picture, but I still cait wait to see some pictures of them on white4runner's rig.

Do you think a 305/65/17 KM2 tire would fit well on a 4Runner? It's 32.6" x 12". I see a lot of FJ's with them. Could I get them to fit with about the same trimming as a 285/70/17? I would have aftermarket wheels with enough backspacing to clear the UCA's or if I had to, I would replace the UCA's. Other than this and trimming the front bumper, does anybody see a problem with this tire size on a 4Runner?

It will fit, but not w/o modding your truck as you would for the 285 or 295. You'll have to trim up the wheel well plastic. M/Ts are "chunkier" that A/Ts even at the same listed size. Let me put it this way. I just lifted mine with the Cornfed 3/2 and put Toyo M/Ts 265/70/17. Even with that lift and aftermarket wheels, I still had to trim.

Any pics of your 4Runner on the 265/70-17 Toyo M/Ts? These might be my next tire. :biggrin2:

Sorry, they were only on for one day. I had them taken off and ordered the 295's. I can say they drove/handled great and looked even better, but I just wanted a little more rubber. I'll post pics when its done.
