Projector/HID advice

I currently have HID's in the JDM black housing headlamp assemblies from Sabersport(ebay). I love how they look from the outside but the pattern they project on the road is really funky. With the bright HID's its really obvious too.

My question is will a projector upgrade fix this strange pattern? Or will all the little reflective angles in the housing still make the beam pattern look funky?

I dont want to buy new headlamp assemblies if i dont have to, but it would be even worse to do this retrofit just to realize the problem is still there.

first off ur "funky" pattern is due to the fact that u got the JDM headlights... u were probably better off taking apart the stock housng and painting the edge black so u still would have got the better beam pattern but in ur situation i would get the projectors since it will fix ur problem.

Thanks for the pics! Are those the sabersport headlamp assemblies? Which projectors might i ask?

It looks like theres a slight bit of wavyness on the bottom(might be the road) and a couple spots outside of the main beam.

A dramatic improvement none the less, just want to know ahead of time exactly what to expect.

The stock 96 headlights were terrible. I actually put the HID's in them first and it was barely better than stock because the lens is more of a texturized finish that absorbs the light.

oh sry i didnt look at ur year model... well i guess it would have been great if u could have gotten ur hands on a set of 01-02 headlights.

Sorry about the pictures, I was messing around with the camera settings on it..

I used to have hid's pnp kit in mine and the output was cool at first but over time, I started to dislike it..
Projectors are the way to go, is day and night driving with it...

if you have any questions, feel free to pm me.

Ok i just ordered this projector kit here:
Bi-xenon FX-R Stage III Kit - Complete Kits from The Retrofit Source LLC

I also ordered a second set of headlamps so i could take my time and do it right, while still having my truck to drive.

For the guys that have used this kit how did you fasten the projector to the headlamp, pics would be great.:wink2:

Just got home from work and was about to reply to your PM, but I guess you won't be needing my assistance anymore lol... GL on you retro project.
