When I first registered, I promised to post som pictures of some mods I did. Here they are, (finally):

6.5" widescreen headrest monitors. These pictures really don't do them justice. I highly recommend these Fahrenheit monitor. They are some of the brightest and sharpest I have seen.

Place to plug in PS2 or Xbox. There is a Fahrenheit video controller under the front passenger seat, so one rear seat passenger can play games while the other watches a movie. Each gets an independent audio channel on the wireless headphones. Above this outlet plate, you will see the IR receiver for the DVD player, and the Audio/Video controller:

I've probably missed another post somewhere but did you remove the heater ducts for the rear passengers to fit the outlets in the console?

I was going to place some extra cig plug inlets in the same place but I thought the ducts would get in the way.

Oh, I see what you are looking at. I can see how that would look like carbon fiber at first glance. Not a bad idea, though.

I did need to cut a 2" square hole in the heater duct. However, since the duct is only about 1/4 inch from the back of the console, I figured not too much air would be lost anyway. Not to mention the fact that most SUV's don't have ducts here anyway, and make out fine. Also, any heated or cooled air "lost" will probably escape on the rear of the console anyway, so I figured this would be OK.

Just to confirm what you have already figured out, I made no change to the fold out "sandwich shelf", other than adding a couple of strips of Velcro to hold the iPod in place. It comes with a pebbled surface.

I forgot to mention , for those of you considering DVD players. This Fahrenheit DVD player does remember its position in a movie when you turn the car off. BUT, I did wire it hot to the battery, (that's what the lit switch is for), so the kids can watch a movie right through a gas stop if so desired. Usually, however, the car can outlast the kids on long trips, so generally, we all exit the car. So do not buy a DVD player without a memory-power-off feature.

Also, for those of you interested in theatre sound, this DVD player has true 5.1 outputs. It has 6 seperate output jacks.

Finally, I should also say that it was necessary to remove the rear of the upper glove box to make this fit.

i'm interested in how you got the wireless setup to work with 3rd party stuff.... any information would be appreciated...

i'm installing a car pc in the back, if i could use that, it would be piiiiiiiiiiiiiimp...

also, you said you put stuff under the front seats... did you do anything with the heater ducts under the seats??? i am interested in mounting amps under there, and putting a carpc in the glove box... might have to cut the bottom part of the glove box though in order to fit the pc...

I didn't use the factory wireless stuff. I bought a pair of (Fahrenheit) dual channel wireless headphones that had their own transmitter. I really wanted the dual channel feature, and digital IR, so I didn't even bother trying to work with the factory set up. I installed the transmitter right behind the factory transmitter on the headliner, (you can see it in one of the pictures).
