Proper Offset/Backspacing to keep factory scrub radius

So I wanted to start this thread so we can collect our thoughts on what offset and Backspacing will keep the correct/centered scrub radius(all these are described somewhere on T4R). However I have the same questions...I've heard several numbers describing the factory OS/BS from the factory wheels..and at least the offset should be the same across all 3rd Gens given the same front suspension geometry.

My question is what aftermarket wheels (especially 16x8) will give the correct scrub radius with a 3 inch lift (if lift even changes the scrub radius)

Has anyone had any issues with their setup...I'm particularly interested in the procomp 8069s. They have a 4" BS.

ICONs website recommends a 16x8 with 4.5 inch BS

THOUGHTS?

That's good to hear...you have wheel spacers? Notice anything different wrt steering force, wandering, or just general characteristics?

I didn't have spacers on for almost two years and just recently found some 1/4" spacers which I just put on the front just to keep the front tires from rubbing. No wandering, no steering problems ever. Truck drives perfectly straight. You can beat these wheels up and they'll still treat you well. Very happy with them.

Ya know, all these answers are great, but still doesn't give the man what he's looking for.

And honestly, I'd like to know as well.

I've read everything from 3.5", to 4.75".

I know it depends on how wide your tire is, but some solid info on no sh!it back spacing would be helpful.

I think you're going to have to get out some paper and a tape measure to figure out what backspace gives you the factory scrub radius. Obviously to keep it the same and go wider with the wheels and tires you are going to have to add more backspace and bring the wheels inboard 50% of the extra width over stock you go.

That said, these things are hardly race cars in stock or lifted form and I can't see the point of worrying about it. ;)

The factory 16" wheels are ~4.65" backspacing. I'm running factory wheels with a 1.25" spacer (effectively gives me a backspacing of ~3.4") I noticed almost no change in steering, maybe a slight increase in steering effort. I noticed no increase in bump steer or wandering.

I wanted a wider stance for a few reasons:
*so I could see the tires when I look out my window for tire/obstacle placement
*fill out the wheel wells with the wider sport flares
*increase on road stability with a wider track
*increase off chamber trail stability

Well unfortunately I'm still on vacation so I won't be near my truck until Thursday, but I think that's a good idea to just do the measurements myself. I'm doing the 231 brake upgrade when I get back, so that will be a good time to do it. I'll post the numbers when that happens

Gerdo, sorry man I didn't want to undermine your measurements, I was typing the post when you posted your...thanks for those numbers. That gives me a good idea

No problem.

FYI, the rear axle (track width) is narrower than the front.
Track Front (in.) 59.30
Track Rear (in.) 58.90
