Wheel offset question

I've done the google search and this forum and I'm still not quite sure.

I'm currently running 285/70/17 TRD Pro wheels (17x7) with 1.25" Spacers and I'm getting new rims and I want the same "offset look." The new rims are 17x8.5 -12 offset. How do these compare? The new rims have backspacing of 4.28 (if that helps).

2.5-3 inch lift with body mount chop done already.

Overall it will be narrower. TRD Pro wheels with 1.25" spacers come out to -27mm IIRC.

You should be somewhere around -28.5 mm now so you would be something like 0.65" inboard/narrower at each wheel with no spacers.

I went from 0 offset wheels with 1.25" spacers to -25 offset wheels without spacers.

The look is very similar in my situation. For you, you'll probably want to keep the spacers.

Current offset with spacer= -27.75mm
Backspace of rim= 4.2" minus 1.25" with spacer

New offset with spacer= -43.75mm
Backspace of rim= 4.28" minus 1.25" with spacer.

SR5 with OEM rims offset with 2" spacer= -38.8mm
Backspace of rim= 4.5" minus 2"

So with spacers you'll be about 5mm wider on each side than me with inch and a half wider rims. I obviously had to body mount chop also so you should still be good even with the spacers! Trust me it will look sick as f_ck!!

Maybe I should add a 1" spacer to get the my current look. I don't mind a little more aggressive stance like yours as long as I don't rub.

She's a beauty . I agree he should run spacers with new rims. You'll handle like a sports car if you ever leave the trail that is!!
