Proper Tire Size for 2008 SR5 T4R 4x4?

We moved up from a 3rd generation Toyota 4 Runner to a 2008 SR5 4x4 Model.

Our older 4 Runner took P265 70R 16 Tires with the upgraded Aluminum Wheel Package.

The newer 2008 SR5 4 Runner has the Upgraded 17" Wheel package and the Tires seem WIDER then on our older 4 Runner... They are P265 65R 17's.

Is this the correct size or should they be P265 70R's?

75% of our driving is Highway/Expressway. Looking to get some new Tires soon. The older Runner alway's wore Michelin LTX M/S then M/S2's. They sure are pricey now at $1,200 a set. A Tire shop meantioned Nokian WRG2 SUV's but I know nothing about these or how they would perform in the warmer month's. I here they work great in the Winter.

I've got an almost new set of Yokohama Geolanders H T-S 265/65/17's for sale

Ive had ltx ms on my tacoma and they last forever. But 220 each hurts. 265 65 17 is the right size. I think i am goin with geolander ats 265 70 17 next. $135 each. Should be able to get 65k miles out of them

open ur door, the size is stated there. 265/65 is the stock size on the 17s, alot move up to the 265/70 because the 1 in. taller tire looks slightly better. one thing to add, when doing so, the mph over 60 changes by about 2, so when it reads 60, ur doing 62, no biggy imo. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=318188
