Proper Way to adjust Coilovers

I just installed my ultimate lift kit on my 96 SR5. I need to lower the front end, I'm sitting about 3.5 inches from my previous height.
I have the spanner wrenches and wanted to know the proper way to lower the front end. I know to use the spanner wrench, I just don't know which piece to loosen first.
I don't know the exact name, but there are two of them at the bottom of the spring, do I loosen the bottom one first, then the one on top of that to the desired height?
I'm looking to be about 2.5 of lift up front.

Just to be sure, you have these coilovers right?

If those are the ones, the way to adjust them is to first jack the vehicle up and get it on good jackstands. Removing the wheel isn't nessacery but it does give you a bunch more room to work

Use the smaller spanner wrench and first loosen the locking ring which is the bottom one. Then take the larger spanner and adjust the larger ring the direction you want to go (down in your case). The ratio is about 1:2 meaning if you adjust the ring down 1/2 inch, you will decrease the lift by 1 inch.

After you have it set where you want it, spin the locking ring back up and lock it in place so both rings can't move. Then put the wheel back on, drop the truck down, and drive it around the block to get it all settled in place.

Those are the ones I have. Thanks for the link and directions. Hoping the rain stays away tonight so I can drop the front end.

I wanted to say thanks again for the assistance. It took a little bit to get the first one started but moved fairly quickly after that. Ended up dropping it 1/2" or 1" overall lower in the front. I really should have checked that before I put it on the road. CV's going in soon
