You might be best to loosen the LCA bolts to allow much easier movement of the LCA. There's two per side. I didn't, but less lift for me. On the driver side, I tried the bottle jack method.. but I think that's what stressed my LBJ boot (it squeezed out a bit of grease).

I ended up going with just prying the LCA down with a pry bar (in my case, a jack handle). That worked best for me.

Embarrassed at how long the front took me, by the way... Lol.

**edit. And for me, the bottle jack method was stressful and did seem to stretch the cv boots, and the previously mentioned LBJ boots. Plus, it slipped off on me on the first try... But others have luck with this method.

Ok, that scares me a little that it slipped. I think I will take the 885/bilsteins to pep boys and ask them to compress and assemble.

I referenced these quite a bit. Looks like 100 ft lbs. Hopefully this helps.

(*God I love smartphones...) For the record, I'm half ''in the bag'' right now, laying in the bed we created out of the back of the 4R with the seats folded down, at camp in the middle of nowhere. Wife's asleep and I'm on t4r.org...! Haha

When the installing rear bilstein 5100s, what is the order of the bushings and washers.

Is it from the top- nut, washer, bushing nipple facing up, hole for shock, bushing nipple facing down, washer?

Thanks! Although when I installed the rears I did not use the stock washer above the lower bushing. The order I used was from the top- nut, bushing, 4runner, bushing, washer.

Uh oh, do I need to use a total of 4 washers for the rear upper shock mount?

From the top down: Nut-washer-bushing-washer-4runner-washer-bushing-washer?

I only used 2. See previous post. I barely got the nut to catch the thread to tighten with only 2 washers. I cant imagine I would get it to catch with 4 washers.
