Proposing to mount Hi-Lift Jack on Tubular Rails?

Has anyone had experience mounting a Hi-Lift Jack on the tubular roof rails, inline with the truck?

Yesterday I lifted the 48" jack and I was surprised how heavy it was. Its rated at 30 lbs, but I would think it was more. My initial thoughts were to mount it on the rails using their "Adjustable Tube Mount"...here...

Perhaps an option would be get the larger diameter (2-3" range) part and sleeve the factory tube so that it doesn't collapse when tightening it.

Can anyone comment whether the rails can support this setup?

They can support it no problem. I've taken multiple, long, bumpy, offroads trips with the high-lift centered on the crossbars with padding and straps. For the last few years I've had a roof basket mounted to the cross bars which I have stood in many, many times. No problems at all.

I appreciate the quick response.

The factory tubes are 2" diameter. I contacted Hi-Lift and they responded that I could go either way with their mount, but I think I'll choose the larger diameter (TM-750) to allow some room in the event I use some larger diameter tubing to split as a reinforcement collar.

Yeah, my redneck mount using foam padding and straps spread the weight out a little and gave a little cushioning. Even though I wouldn't anticipate any problem centering the jack on the tubes with the hi-lift mount, I'd probably put them to one side if it were me.
