Protecting your auxiliary lights from theft!

I would like to know from all of you who have auxiliary lights, how do you secure them so they don't get stolen? I got my center protector this weekend and I am trying to find out how to secure the lights. I know PIAA sells a lock for their lights, don't know if it fits other manufacturers' lights...

IMO find stover lock nuts. They will lock it on and unless they take time to try and remove them they wont take them. They best lock nut out there. Full metal none of that nylon stuff.


They are crimped to give it lock feature. They pain in ass to remove but do able if you need.

I secure all the aux lights on my jeep with allen (hex) wrench bolts. Sure, they aren't as secure as locking nuts, but they are way less expensive.... and I'm pretty sure most theives wouldn't happen to have an assortment of hex wrenches in their pockets. I also have either put a dab of epoxy or solder inside of the bolt head and under the head to secure the bolt. Using a little heat, you can easily wick off/out the epoxy or solder.

Cheap, clean, and easy.

i just got the PIAA light locks for my PIAA 540s. these locks appear to fit anything as long as your manufacturer uses 10mm bolts (10mm x 1.5), I believe the 1.5 indicates the thread pattern. they're a bit pricey IMO but they're metal and are designed well. if someone really wants'em, he's going to get'em. Any type of lock is just to keep the honest people honest.

i read one thread where someone drilled a hole in his bolt and stuck a pop rivot through it.

if you go with the PIAA locks... i suggest using some thread lock
