just being realistic, you can't have your cake and eat it too. if your that worried about offroading and pinstripes you might as well put a set of curb feelers on your runner to keep the curb from scratching your rims.

There are various different degrees of offroading. And of course there are different trails....some that are likely to cause damage (or just scratches) and some that are not.

That said, there's nothing wrong with a guy wanting to explore a trail while protecting his paint from scratches. Personally, I'd avoid tight trails with a lot of brush just for that very reason. But if I were on a trail that suddenly got very narrow, something like this idea would be a great alternative to either turning back or subjecting the paint to scratches.

Just because you're willing to scratch up your paint doesn't mean that everyone else should too. This idea gives people a little extra protection while still allowing them to explore offroad. Nothing wrong with that!

Hm, they are definitely not my cup of tea, but keeping some in the back would be smart, in case a trail unexpectedly became very narrow, because I wouldn't want pin stripes on my truck yet. Especially since most trails in CA are either in the desert, or in the woods. Either way you have bushes and branches sticking out all over the place.
