So I did that thing you are not supposed to do when changing a tire...and now I have a 5 lug hub instead of a 6 lug...

This is the first time I made such a careless mistake...

The good news is that my impact sheered the stud clean off, but I dont really know the procedure to change it.

Most of the stuff I am searching for is taking me to someone working on the front.

Does anyone have any good info, manual, video, or links for changing the REAR driver? From reading it looks like the rear is a lot more work? I cant just pound it out with the rotor and calipers on?

What tools do I need to make this a walk in the park?

This is a 2004 SR5 v6 4x4 with disc brakes in the rear.

Man that sucks. I thought from the title you bought a tundra.

Me too.

I don't recall if you can pound out a rear wheel stud without removing the hub. Take a closer look, since it's sheared completely off it may allow enough room to pop it out.

You need to remove the caliper and rotor to remove and replace a lug stud, which means you will have to loosen the parking brakes on that side so the rotor will come off. Once both are removed, rotate the hub so that the broken stud is at the bottom, and use a large pin punch to knock it loose. Make sure to remove the broken head of the stud. Then insert the new stud. There is a special press tool for installing the new studs, but I use a lug nut with a large nut for a spacer. Just tighten the lug nut until the stud in pulled into place. remove the lug nut, reinstall the rotor, adjust parking brake, reinstall caliper and wheel, and your done.

Does this mean you have the FJ wheels on now?

Yup... I picked 5 total, full set + a spare... I was testing fit and checking clearance last night and it happened when putting the stock SR5 rims back on... :sobbing:

Now i'm punishing myself by forcing myself to fix it before I can use my new rims and tires.

... it was a sad evening last night.
