I believe mine had a sticker of 32K... 4x4, SR5, Leather, wood trim and those sweet gold trim pieces.

A limited started at 34K, according to Cars.com....so yea, I believe that adjusted for inflation the 3rd Gen was much more expensive.

i'm fair certain i recently saw a window sticker on another thread from someone who just picked up a 1 owner 3rd gen and it was $24k brand new.

good chance that was me, this is how the price broke down for my Runner (98' Base 2wd):

$20,658 - Base MSRP
$705 - Convenience Pkg (tilt wheel, variable wipers, digi clock, rear defogger, front map lights)
$2,275 - Upgrade Pkg (CFC-free a/c, power windows/locks/antenna/outer mirrors, cruise control, carpet mats)
$295 - Privacy glass
$420 - Destination

$24,353 - Total Price

CPI says that $20.6k in 98 = $31k today and a base 2018 SR5 starts at $34k so its about equivalent...
