2 questions: 1) I own a 2016 T4R Trail w/ a regular "G" key and will be emailing you about the compustar kit w/drone mobile. I know you said the easy go kit was no longer necessary, but was kind of intrested in the keyless entry feature anyway is that still possible? Really enjoy the feature on my wife's vehicle. Trying to research PTS kits for T4R using factory PTS button from Toyota.In the Compustar world. It is going to HIGHLY unlikely that they will ever allow this alternative method to work. it is not secure method.
I thought about doing this with my Lexus thats push to start.
So if i mimic the start sequence by sending a start command to the brake pedal to simulate pressing the brake. then another start command to show the push button pressed. i still would need to show the smart key RFID code. So that means the smart key would need to be present inside the vehicle upon startup.
Compustar transmits the immobilizer code to the vehicle via data, not the RFID from the smart key. thus the need to re validate the smart key RFID unpon entry. since the bladed keys do not have a RFID they just have a immobilizer inside the key head, the bladed "keyed" portion will validate a successful take over. if you dont have a key, you can turn the tumbler. if you step on the brake in a "keyed" car, it will shut the remote start down and revert to whatever position the key is in. if it didnt have the proper key inserted and turned to the on position, it will turn off. this will not allow the vehicle to be driven away.
All that being said, now onto the "other solution". Other solution keeps the vehicle running with the immobilizer code and never re validates the RFID code thus eliminating a secondary security feature inherent in all smart key applications.
This solution is more complex. required the imi line to be interrupted, door locks to be hardwired in, tach would need to be a hard wire connection and not thru data, brake hardwired int, igition 1 and 2, accesory, start wire and parking lights. it takes the install to the next level of difficulty like 3 notches. oh yeah and then there is the added fun of connecting all the wires from the Fortin unit to the compustar or what ever brand you choose to use that supports the Fortin protocol. Then lets hope it works, because i'll probably be like 2000 miles away from you!

2) Which brings me to my 2nd question which is my wife has a 2017 Lexus GX460 and intrested in trying the Fortin route. Wife hates having to restart the truck after using the Lexus remote start app on her phone. I looked at their website and installation pdf, looked at the wiring diagrams for a 4runner and Lexus but all say for "2010-2011 models" but like you stated, it's pretty much the same vehicle since 2010. Just wanna make sure. It looks like a pretty intense install but I think I'm up for it. Would you be able to program the Fortin EVO-All for me? Also what compustar kit would you pair with Fortin module or is the EVO-All I need. Excuse the pun. She would prefer to use just factory fob. The 4runner version had a premade T-harness that would plug in to the ignition harness, but I can't find one for the Lexus. Wirecolor.com looks like they some detailed instructions but little concerned about cutting factory wiring harnesses on my wife's brand new expensive ass fancy 4runner aka GX460. Thanks in advance.
