Finally getting around to post feedback for Steve!!
I ordered the basic remote start, drone mobile and alarm just before Christmas. I finished up the install the Wednesday night before Christmas and couldn't get it to work. Talked to Steve the next morning and found out there was a firmware issue with my cartridge. I told him this was a present for my wife and he overnighted a cartridge to me!!! Absolute best customer service hands down! Steve is more than willing to help his customers and for this I will recommend him to everyone I know as well as everyone here who doesn't have his kit.
For the people that are scared of the wire splicing and soldering, don't be. I was a little nervous and I will say the toughest part was taking the dash panels apart and taking the time to run the wires neatly and organized. Anyway, I very happy with the system and more importantly, my wife absolutely loves it.
Thanks again Steve for being a great guy and willing to put extra effort in to make your customers happy!

Does anyone else who has this setup find the keyless entry system insanely frustrating?
I hate that it only works for the drivers door, but that's on me since I knew that was the case when I bought it.
What really drives me crazy is the constant lock unlock when you are around the perimeter of the truck. Say you're parked on the street so you need to close the driver door but get something out of the hatch, doors will automatically lock and then you have to manually unlock again to open the hatch.
Want an exercise in patience? Try making a bunch of trips from the house to the truck to load up the family luggage but because of where you are parked, you can't leave a door ajar to prevent auto lock. Auto lock, unlock manually with full hands, auto lock, unlock manually with loaded hands, over and over again.

Tech stream can change your factory settings to unlock all doors with one press of the key fob. The system is only mimicking that. The placement of your ezgo and battery strength will determine the distance you get with the ezgo. I have my Lexus in the driver's pillar and my 4 runner in the driver's headliner. The 4 runner will not work from the trunk area because I stuffed it right above my head. Very close to a lot of metal.
Also you can turn off the ezgo feature by holding the button on the back for 8 seconds. Two flash is off, one is on.
When your range is diminished, you should changed the battery.
If you can't get tech stream working to fix it, done dealerships will do it for free. Another option is to contact me via email. I could've easily explained it so you would be frustrated. I do understand it's a love hate relationship sometimes.

Another Successful Compustar Remote Start Install
Just wanted to provide some feedback on a Compustar Remote start with Drone Mobile unit I purchased from Steve for my 2014 LE. It's been a cold winter in the northeast, so it was time to get myself warmed up from the comfort of my iPhone. For the price of this unit vs factory (not to mention unlimited range with Drone), it was well worth the investment.
Steve provided me with everything I needed to complete the install in just under 2 hours. I am meticulous when it comes to my truck, so every splice and solder and retape was done with great care, probably adding a bit of time to the install. The directions that were provided were on-point and I was able to locate every wire harness with the help of pictures and diagrams. When it came time to program my unit, I ran into a little bit of trouble (new firmware), but a quick phone call and troubleshoot with Steve (unreal support, thank you) got my baby purring in under 30 mins. At the time I purchased my unit the optional temperature sensor was unavailable, but Steve said he is dropping that in the mail this week free of charge...that option will turn on my rear and mirror defrosters, and windshield wiper heater. What I love most about this system is that you can use your existing smart key- no need for another fob.

As far as putting it all together, I had no experience with the interior of the T4R's and had not soldered anything ever. Despite this, install took a leisure 3-4 hours in my driveway in 20 degree weather. His instructions are spot on and includes written text referencing pictures and diagrams in addition to videos. I do suggest you-tubing how to splice / solder wires if you're like me and inexperienced.
Once everything was soldered, covered with Super 33, and zip tied, programming took no time at all. Worked like a charm first go around and she fired up after 3 clicks of the lock button. The front / rear windshield and mirror defrosters were working as well without issue. Just a heads up, the front windshield light defroster will turn on following remote start. However, the rear / mirror defrosters will not as the tap point is after the circuit and before the defroster (per Steve).
10/10 would do it again. It's awesome that Steve is able to provide both the system and resources that allows for you to install it yourself and knowing that it's done right. Might have to pick up the Drone Mobile unit now...

just a quick question..I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2018 off road... i have the option of getting the genuine Toyota remote starter. The only thing thats turning me off is that if you open the door the car shuts off. I like that it turns on the defrost and heating elements in the car...but im not sure how it'll work out with the motor shutting off anytime you touch something...could this issue be bypassed?

My 2017 came with the factory remote start and tried to haggle the dealer about removing it or even giving me some kind of instructions to uninstall that thing with no luck. To my knowledge and research, there is no way to bypass the engine kill whenever you unlock the door. For that reason I'm going after market. I actually have a Compustar remote start system that I got from Best buy a couple years ago that is sitting in my closet. But I'm trying to find out if their are some kind of instructions to remove the factory one. On that note does any one know if it is an relatively easy uninstall?

I just wanted to leave some more positive feedback for Steve and some additional reassurance for those who are on the fence. Bottom line, do yourself a favor and buy one of his kits immediately. You'll be happy you did!

I don't have a lot of experience with soldering or electrical systems in general, so needless to say I was super nervous to cut/splice/solder very important wires. But once I started going, it was basically color by numbers. His kit and guide couldn't have made things easier! If I can do it, you most definitely can. The best part... everything worked with no issues the first time I tried it! It's been working awesome ever since, and I even have Alexa hooked up so she can start the 4Runner for my wife every morning. Definitely some browny points from her on that one

I'm getting ready to pull the trigger on a remote start/alarm package and I'm trying to decide if I want to get a 2way or drone mobile. I've read a few threads that the Drone Mobile can kill a battery if you don't use the car for a few weeks. Is that true?

Ask yourself if you really need the ability to lock/unlock your car from anywhere. To enable this ability you will also be paying a subscription service to do so as it requires cellular service.
For me, I wanted 2-way with decent range. I went with the T11 remote. With either option, you can use the factory key fob to start the car - albeit with lesser range than the T11 remote.

Are you able to turn on window defrost and seat heaters with the T11?
Defrost function is enabled automatically when the temp falls below 45. Since the heated seats are on a dial, if you leave the dial on, it will be on when you remote start the car - there is no option to turn heated seats on if the dial is set to off.
