Pull left under heavy braking and right under heavy acceleration??

Anyone else with a limited notice this? I really noticed this after I lifted mine (6112/5160). The car is aligned well and I first attributed it to a set of tires, but it continued w/ my current set. My shop seems to think it has to do with the 6112s being set differently on the driver/passenger side to account for lean, but I'm not sure. My alignment is good to go.

Any thoughts on what else it could be?

i can assure you this is for my car. this problem has existed across alignments from dif shops. the car tracks straight under normal driving and during light braking/normal acceleration the issues is not noticeable. I'm thinking that either the problem is the result of the dif spring preloads in the front couple with differing SAIs or something is bent somewhere.

Maybe you have some shot bushings or incorrectly mounted tires? I once got my car back from new tires/wheels and one of the tires was mounted improperly causing a massive pull to the right. For some reason it kept passing alignment, but on the road at highway speeds it was terrible. After two alignments I complained again, then they put a more experienced tech who then remounted the tire and solved the problem. Now what you have could be completely different but I thought I would mention it in case it is worth a look. Good luck!
 
switch the tires side to side and see what it does......a bad belt inside the tire can cause a pull. Check the rear track bar too.

Tracks straight during normal driving, but under a load it pulls, I would look at drivetrain.
No issue braking???

I may be wrong, but it sounds like no issue with alignment.
 
I can pretty much assure you that it's not the minor difference in the clip settings. The TRD Pros come with a different clip setting from the factory to account for the lean. I just installed a set of 6112 springs on my stock Pro shocks with the higher setting on the driver side and there is no pull, before or after the alignment. 4runners are notorious for sticking calipers so check that. Other then that I'd suggest swapping sides on the front tires like has already been suggested. Good luck.

ill check the rear track bar and for a sticking caliper. i wish it were the tires, but this has occurred through two sets of tires and rotations dont make a difference. thanks
 
Do you have KDSS? If so you might want to have it checked. It can cause weird things if one side of the system is leaking.
 
Sounds like an issue with your front right caliper. Its not compressing during braking, thus pulling to the left and dragging to the right during normal driving. I would say that your caliper piston boot is shot on the front right caliper. I would fix that and then change your pads. Let us know what you find out what it is.

this sounds plausible. will get it looked at next time i have it in the shop. thanks
