Pulling CV axle at pick n pull

I was at a pick n pull last week. There were two 3rd gens; I was hoping to grab a CV axle to use as a trail spare. The problem I ran into - the front ends on both were in various states of disassembly and neither had functioning brakes.

Question - without brakes, is there a way to break the hub nut loose on the CV axle?

Yeah, just take a screw driver and jam it into the internal vents in the rotor and turn it till it hits something. If they have no brakes even mounted, then grab a pole or something and jam it cross ways to stop the screwdriver.

Never knew a "johnson rodd" was a fly fishing rod, its just a rod i use that i call johnsons

That's what I did at the pull and pay. Took my big pry bar for popping out the cv's and wedged it between the ground and the lug studs. Worked great.

Mind checking if there are the wide SR5 flares on either of the 4runner while you are there? I've been wanting to get over there but those 4runner have been there for awhile. I need the front passenger and the rear door section for the passenger.

As of last Friday, the Aurora Upullandpay has a '99 with rear wide SR5 flares. No fronts.
