Purchased a new 05 V8 Runner last night!!

Well, I am trading in my V6 SE 2003 Runner for a V8 SE 2005 Runner. Dealer gave me $4300 MORE than I owed on my V6, was an unbelievable deal. They also gave me $3000 off of the sticker on the V8. Color is black and looks great!! Will post some picks after I pick it up tonight. Can't wait to get that V8 going...unbelievable power behind it.

So how much did your V6 depreciate between 2003-2005? Sound like you are happy with the deal. The new 2005 V8 is impressive congrat's.

I paid $28,200 for the SE in 2003, so roughly $4700. In Central Ny, NO dealer gives more than $3000 off sticker. I have been to all of them and they all give the same discount. So the only way I could negotiate was on my trade. They wanted to give me $21K but I wasn't having that. I talked them up to $23,500. It pays to have a 4 year degree in business management I guess...I am happy with the deal. I am sure that others have gotten better deals but this is the best deal that I could get in my area. It is amazing how much prices differ from location to location.

If we talked about depreciation from how much you paid when you first got your then NEW vehicle, it is $4,700.
But, considering the MSRP then, ... put this way, the closer between MSRP and $28,200, it is not too much away from $4,700 as far as depreciation is concerned.
If you got $3,000 off MSRP for your 03 vehicle, the depreciation is likely to be $7,700. Since the stealer stealing your trade-in has no way to know how much you paid for your 03 4Runner.
