Ok so I literally spent days searching for an answer to this question. I've seen it asked but not answered:

What is the largest tire I can run with only minor modifications to the fender linings, (No BMC)?

Vehicle: 2014 Limited
Leveling kit: Daystar KT09134BK
Wheels: 20x9 with -12mm offset

I would love to run..........285/65 or 60/20 BFG Ko2
But would be happy with..275/65 or 60/20 BFG Ko2

Any help would be great and can save me a lot of time and money. :juggle:

im running toytec 2.5 up front with 17x8 -10 offset. 285/70. removed mudflap, fender liner pushed forward and trimmed the corner. no rubbing at all
 
Thank you, I think once you move into 20" diameter wheel territory, the tire sizes that would work are quite different. Hopefully someone with a similar setup to mine can chime in...???
 
Wow, I've heard so many good things about Ko2's. Now I am reconsidering, maybe Duratracs?

maybe if I called a tire supplier they would be able to tell me what size will fit.

Just because one person that responded to your thread said they don't like KO2s isn't a reason to reconsider. There are plenty of people on her that like KO2s and some that like other brands. It's a pretty subjective topic. Get a tire that'll meet your needs and don't look back. I've had 3 sets of KO2s in all different sizes and have been impressed with each set. No complaints here.
 
You'll be trimming plastic with any of those sizes due to the Limited body work. I'd go with 285/60 and have to cutting wheel ready.

I don't think daystar will give you a definitive answer either. You have to understand that there are a lot of variables when lifting a vehicle and choosing a tire. Every lift is approximate and it will also depend on the 4Runner. Each one is different. Then when you get to tire size that's a whole different ball game. There is no way to know which size tire will fit with what lift due to each tire, lift and 4Runner being different.

Thank you for your reply and I completely understand what you're saying. I am willing to do minor modifications, ie. heat gun plastic linings, etc. I am trying to avoid BMC and anything to do with welding or chopping metal. And I am merely asking for a suggestion, not anything precise. If you, or anyone, can give a suggestion I would appreciate it greatly.
I would rather not stick 275/55/20s on there if its not necessary. I want a little more profile in the tire. A 275/60/20 would do me just fine, but I'm asking through other members experiences whether or not I would have to take a welding class or purchase some diamond demo blades to do so. Any incite would surely help me and the next member in the same circumstance. :thanks:
