Congrats, as part of delivery have them set your auto-locks to your preference. Mine made me nuts 'til I got it set. It's not as seamless as the owners manual would have you believe.

There are a lot of small upgrades you can make that will really enhance the look and performance of your 4R, without having to go crazy and spending a lot of money.

A couple quick suggestions....

Ditch the factory floor mats. While they look good when the car is new, they will end up looking like crap in a hurry. Mine got trashed after our first camping trip before my car was even a month old. A lot of people like the Toyota all weather mats, the Husky liners, and the WeatherTech liners. I have the WeatherTech liners and they fit and look great. Very practical, too!

Window tint: Different countries/states/territories have different laws regarding window tint on the front windows, but I technically have an "illegal" tint and have never caught static for it. I didn't go any darker, I just had the front windows tinted to match the rears. It keeps the interior slightly cooler in the summer, doesn't affect night-time driving visibility, BUT, significantly cuts down on glare. I'm a big fan of window tint.

Color keyed front grill. Look at Falls' sig, and that sums it up. ~$150 and 15 minutes of your time will make your 4R SE look really slick.

Tires....I've been going back and forth on this since I bought my car. If you live in a mild climate (little or no snow) and don't plan on going 4-wheel'n, you might as well get the miles out of the stock Dunlops. IMO, they are not as bad as some people make them out to be. HOWEVER, If you plan on 4-wheel'n much or you live in a marginally crappy climate, you might want to think about upgrading your tires sooner rather than later. And as you will see from searching this forum, most people go up one size taller in tires for their 4R's. The 4th gen 4R just looks a little more natural with a slightly bigger tire.

Congrats on your new truck! Welcome to the family. An easy upgrade can be a skid plate, trailer hitch, or homelink if your truck didn't come with it. It all depends on what you really want.

:iagree: took me 30 minutes of trying on the first night after delivery to configure it the way I want. Didn't work and I gave up, tried again a few days for a few minutes and it finally worked.

Mine came with unlocking automatically when I shifted into park and did not lock at automatically. Now it locks when I shift out of park or go faster than 12mph and doesn't not unlock automatically.

The choices for the locks are:
automatic locking:
-lock when shifting out of park
-lock when speed reaches 12mph

automatic unlocking:
-unlock when shifting into park
-unlock when key is turned from 'On' to 'Acc'

Sounds like skidplates, color-keyed grill, black headlights and a little extra tint are good places to start. Thanks everybody for suggestions, I'm glad I found this site!

Its in the manual, on page 22 in mine, but bring a watch with a second hand. The trouble folks mention is because the five seconds you hold the lock button down has to be five seconds for real. I counted, and it didn't work, but when I used my watch it did.
