hey pure, well i know we talked about me extending my roof rack and well i figured i should ask since i plan to take the "buy it" plunge soon... well i know u have some space til the front of the 4runner with a single extension but do u think it would fit two extensions from front to rear without extending over the windshield?

I don't think you can fit another one and still be able to open the rear hatch.

Mine hangs about half way over my sunroof right now.

dang, i really want it to be as close as i can get it to a full length rack since im planning to run some limb risers for when im out wheeling and such at my friend's ranch. First time i went there, a tree tore off my antenna and left scratches that i still have to this day. (this was about 4-5 years ago)

Nice work. I'm thinking about doing this soon also. I have a good comp, I just need a tank and the hoses and fittings. I'm pretty sure I'm going to put the tank in the stock spare tire location. I was going to put an F150 gas tank there (because it would be more protected up there) and ditch my stock tank because it's getting beat up from rocks, but I decided to just get a gas tank skid instead. Then I was thinking an auxillary gas tank back there would be cool, but now I have a gas can holder on my bumper. So air tank it is. Sliders should be your next mod so you can go wheelin with us more often!!

Okay so i did the measurements and it might fit, you will need to get the back of the rack to almost touch the hatch deflector. The extension is 18 3/4 in , it looks like it might hang over 1/2" or less. If any thing you can fab it to fit, just cut the female ends and it will work. it's funny thought about doing it but never did the measurements, adding it to my never ending to do list.

Thanks Brian Sliders are definitely my next mod. Stock spare tire location is ideal in the 4runner, because there is no room under there.

ya i was thinking it would fit but after looking at ur pics i figured it would be close... so i was looking at etrailer and after calculating everything out the roof rack with 2 extensions is 89". The roof rack im assuming would need to be cut a bit and welded together (by a friend or my dad, i dunno how to weld) bc i want to be able to put a wind fairing at the front and i have the ladder in the rear so that puts me about 2" shorter then touching the rear spoiler.

I looked up the Gobi stealth to see an overall dimension and was able to find a PDF that says it is 84" and im assuming i should make it around that length to give room for a custom wind fairing and the ladder to have room to move and to ensure the rear hatch is accessible.

Thnx for the help on measuring ur rig and all, Pure. Ya im gonna go out tom sometime and measure everything for sure and see how well itll fit...
