Purolator fuel filter

Not sure of price for new OEM fuel filter but this one is only $19.99 at local parts store. I typically prefer to buy OEM since I get a discount anyway but I imagine it'll be $30 or more even with my discount. Anybody used purolator products before and have an opinion?

What discount are you speaking of? I've never used an online discount if thats what you mean since I get one locally but my local connection may not be as cheap. Fill me in

I may try napa and see. Not sure on the fuel filter but I think wix makes filters for napas gold label which is the only other oil filter brand besides OEM I'll use.

i use napa gold for oil and fuel filters, their product is top quality only thing is they cost more than your normal auto part store stuff, i sometimes use autozone stuff only if they have lifetime warranty

I have used NAPA/Wix filters on all my cars since they built a store about 4 miles from my house (that was 1973). One 1966 tractor, two Toyotas, one Mercedes, one Saab, one BMW, and one Hyundai (for the kid) have all thrived on them, and several of those have gone over 200k and the 'cedes lasted thirty years. None died of engine problems, except the 'cedes, but that was a coolant loss/overheating tragedy.

I use Mann fuel filters. They are the OEM filters for my BMW, if they're good enough for BMW, they're good enough for me. The Mann fuel filter for my T4R was $12 from Amazon

I've never really heard anything bad about Purolator. I installed a Purolator fuel filter, Purolator air filter, and this past oil change I went from Fram to Purolator for the first time.

Apparently I'm extremely cheap compared to everyone else on here when it comes to parts. I'm not one of the ones constantly screaming about OEM because my Runner runs fine without the huge OEM markups on price. :shrug:

I replaced mine on Thursday with a Wix, cost $15.95 from my mechanic don't remember whom he ordered it from.
The filter that was in there was original with 158,000 miles on it.
Apparently the Toyota dealerships do not recommend changing the fuel filter which I find crazy.
When he took it off, he blew the gas that in it out into a cup and I swear it looked just like mud.

Why in the hell do they not recommend changing it I dunno.

I plan to change it every other year.

Clogged fuel filters are the number one reason fuel pumps go bad. I guess Toyota likes making money off of replacing fuel pumps.
