I was suprised that my search came up with nothing because it's something i'm rather curious about.
My titanium metallic (silver) 4runner's hood/bug deflector has a purple tint to it. When I was intially shopping for 4runners a few months ago I came across an 05 same colour sport edition with the same purple tinted deflector also. Both say "Toyota" on them so I assume they came from the factory like that. I just wonder why Toyota chose to go with this colour as I think a black one would look much better. Being from a small farming community where everyone drives one of the big three, it's hard enough fighting off the stereotypes, this purple hood deflector isn't helping my cause! (Just kidding I don't really care what people think of Toyota, it's usually a gas pedal joke anyways, which were funny the first 100 times but not so much anymore lol)
I'm obviously gonna change it to a black one, just wanted some insight and theories on why Toyota would chose this colour?
