Why would anyone decide to spend $ to install one inch lift. To me it doesnt make any difference from stock height.

im deciding between a 1" and a 3". A 1" and my tires wont rub anymore and I wont have to drop anything. A 3" and ill have to get bigger tires for it to look right and have to start dropping thing under the 4runner to releive stress.

Well, I put on my 1' lift for numeruos different reasons. One, to gain more clearance for the bigger tires. Two, for better ride quality since I used PP springs which are progressive rate. It does make a huge difference.

Are you talking suspension lift or body lift? For a body lift, I agree, I see no reason for it. As for a suspension lift, I'll be honest with you, if I could upgrade to a higher quality suspension with a 0" lift I'd do it. My '99 sits plenty high already and I'm not planning on putting more than a 32" tire on it. However, the stock suspension sags in the back and I would appreciate higher quality shocks and springs up front as well. I'm contemplating an OME 2.5" lift kit (coils and shocks only) and honestly, if it lifts it less than that, I'd be very happy.
