Putting a 1.5 DIN alpine deck in my 2002 4Runner, is it possible?

I've never heard of a 1.5 din, however, I just installed a single din Alpine in my 1999 this weekend. You should be able to install it if they make a .5 din tray to go underneath or above the radio.
The Alpine should be able to use the factory Toyota brackets that are holding the factory unit in (which eliminates your need for a full "kit"). If they don't make a .5 din tray or plastic piece of some sort, then you'll have to get creative as to how to cover up the hole that will be left.
When you get the harness for the Toyota (They've been the same since the 80's), you will notice that it has two plugs to attach to the Toyota end.
When I got my factory radio out, I only saw 1 plug to use. Through some research, I realized you have to also remove the Toyota factory amp, which is silver and just behind the radio. It is only two screws, but then you will be able to plug the wiring harness in to the Toyota. Just saving you a phone call.

I don't know if it will fit or not, but you could ask the owner to measure it for you, then measure your exisiting unit. I would tend to think that they are all universal in width, but I don't know.
Get the model number and call your local Car Toys/ Best Buy/ Car Audio shop. I'm certain they would be able to tell you if it would fit, plus they have a vested interest, you'll have to buy your wiring harness somewhere.
Edit: Keep in mind it is still a 1.5 din, and you'll still have to do something about the length (because your toyota is a double din), but they will probably have a mounting plate/tray/solution of some sort for that too.
Edit II: Looks like one was put in this older Toyota, so it should be 'wide' enough....but, again, don't take my word for it. Ask a professional.

thats a deck for an american cars, ie ford, gmc shit, why dont u get a good pioneer deck for like 200-500 bucks, the 880rps is top notch
yeah it will defiantly fit. There will actually still be room to spare, 4runners come with a double din stereo in them!! I replaced mine with a double din kenwood and it looks way better than any single din with a cheap plastic piece under it!! And for the width i never heard of any head unit that was too wide. Im not totally sure ,but im pretty sure that it wont be too wide!!im almost positive.
