Quarter Panel Window replace with metal [Storage access]

Looking to replace my rear quarter panel windows. Would be OK with just putting steel in their place but if I can make it have a second purpose (storage or cargo access), would be awesome.

I think I've seen these on previous models? Anyone make these for 5th gen?

if you've seen these for previous models, can you please post link or something as I can't find anything right now and would be good for ideas when I make it myself (i I can't find someone selling anything yet).

There is space lost between window and molle panel that can be utilized with easy access from outside. Would be great.

Yes, those are radio antenna in the rear quarter panel glass, not defrost elements. As long as you are ok losing those

I like the idea of the molle being attached directly to the hatch, however...

My question is how tall are you guys? I'm 6'1" and looking at my "slightly" lifted t4r, I can't see popping the side window and reaching in to get anything in the cargo area, especially something that would be any different than just rolling down the window or popping the back hatch.
Anything attached directly to the backside of the "new" side window hatch would now be elevated to the roof level when the hatch is open.

I wonder how bad that leaks in heavy rain and car washes. I think matching the curves using thinner steel would have been the better choice.

Beats me. If I wanted a pickup truck with a shell that opens from the side, I’d have bought one. Obviously I’m not the target market

I’m 6’0. I have 34” tires and about 4” lift. I would easily be able to reach into the cargo area... would be a pain if I would use molle on the steel plate and have to reach to open plate.

FYI, I need these for two reasons:

1. I have a SSO side ladder which I use a lot to get cargo on my roof rack. The side ladder beats my glass on washboard roads. Already have permanent marks on my glass from the rubber pads on the ladder. Eventually my glass will shatter... just a matter of time. I love my trailgator (it’s essential for me with a 2 year old as that’s where he usually hangs out)... due to trailgator I can only use ladder on side so I’m stuck. I want to replace glass with steel on driver side so I don’t end up with shattered glass halfway down a 3 day trail.

2. With bumper setup it’s a pain to get into rear cargo area to grab something I need fast. With the Rago molle setup I can use the backside molle setup to grab stuff fast. Won’t need to reach up to grab off the wing itself.
