Questin about land cruiser coils??

Everywhere I have been reading about landcruisers this lc that. I think I figured it that there talking about the coils off the land crusiers and putting them on the 3rd gen. Is it true? And my questions are
what will the lc coils do to my rig?
What year land cruiser?
Right now I have a 3" spacer by revtek will they fit well together since the lc coils fit in my rig?

lc 80 coils you use their fronts for your rears and you should gain 3.5-4.5 depending on the year and number of wraps on the coils. i don't know the stack up of the different years....sorry

but yes it is true.

a number of us have them on here i also think sonra steel or one of the lift companies actually use 'em as part of their lift kit.

i have a set i'm getting ready to put on but have found that trying to bring the front end level is kind of a pain when using the lc coils in the rear

not a pro on this matter but just what i have found when i've been searching this for the last month or so.
 
kay here we go:

You will need FRONT coils out of a FJ80 (94-97) Land Cruiser to fit the REAR of your 4Runner. There are 3 different trim models and 3 different heights:

2WD = 7 wrap = about 3.5"
4WD = 8 wrap = about 4.5"
4WD SE = 9 wrap = about 5.5"
 
The springs I got were the OME 851's. I paid $40 from a wrecking yard. You will have no hope of leveling the front with these, as they are a 2" lift for the LC. However, if you offroad as hard as I do, you will need the additional rake for clearance.

I installed some well used lc coils from a '94 and it gave me about 3.5 inches of lift. They were 8 wrap coils, which won't settle anymore. New coils are higher and will settle some but not much due to the lack of weight.
I considered the weight of a fzj80 with the I6 engine in the front, before I decided to install them, which was an easy 3 hour job.

Yes, first time did a lot of looking and deciding of what to unbolt. It was the same for the CV axles, took longer then recommended. I am learning, just don't see me doing rear springs anytime soon.
 
i am going with the 2.5" spacer lift for the front. is there a 2.5" lift land cruiser spring lift that would work on the rear of my 2wd 4runner? or what other springs would work there? i can probably get used lc coils locally for a bit cheaper but if they raise it too high then i don't want that. i would like my 4runner to sit level with the front and rear. i don't want the higher in the rear raked look. any help on this one
 
I have daystar 2.5in spacer in front, LC coils from 91 in rear they have 9 wraps and i think it looks fine. Although there is a rake but not enough to bother me, i plan to to get toytec adjustable coilovers for the front to help level it out. i was scared because everywhere i read on here and YT everyone was saying to get the coils off a 95' but the ones of the 91 worked for me, Ill send you some pics of what it looks like.

I would try to find a set of 2wd LC springs to go with the 2.5" spacers. It may be a LITTLE bit raked, but it won't look bad. Also look at OME 890 or 891 springs for the rear. They might be a little more level with front spacers.
 
whats the difference between ome 890 or 891 springs and what would be better for me? going for the best ride quality on streets. don't hold heavy weight back there either, just the kids mostly. also can these ome springs be used with my stock shocks cause i cannot afford to get new shocks right now. thanks

891s are "heavy duty" but in my opinion the 890s sag too much even without a load. I think the 891s should be standard for the 4runners and the 890s should be for a pickup.
 
what about the ome 906 springs. on the trdparts4u.com website, the 906 says they lift 2 inches, 890 lift 2.75 inches, 891 lift 3 inches. i am wanting a level rake to go along with a 2.5 inch spacer lift for the front. ??

Unless you want a negative rake go for the 891s. Better to have the back slightly higher IMHO.
 
wow crazy, so usually my email tells me when i get the replys but i havnt gotten a single one till i googled my question and came back my post. i thank you guys so much for the outstanding replys. i will absolutly take these into account. now i know im using the 94 lc? i think im going with the tundra front coils if i understand correctly, with the lc and tundra coils can i use my 3' revtec spacers on them?
will that give me too much clearence...no such thing nut really will that work? will i get about 6" clearance?????????????????????? i guess ill put my email since im not getting emails or info from ythe site itself..

you wont need spacers in the rear with the lc coils unless your trying to run some rediculously huge tires.
 
Ok so the LCD are really big got it ha what about for the tundra springs? Do you think that will even out the or level my 4runner with the lc I'm the back?
 
So if I am understanding this correct...if I am doing a 3" lift, I can use "2WD = 7 wrap = about 3.5" LC coils for the rear lift? I would be going with 891 coils in the rear, but after reading more on them, I don't think I'll care for the STIFF ride.

You can do the 7 or 8-wrap of you like a little rake
 
ya i have 8 and heres what mine looks like with a 3inch spacer...
