i backed into my wifes car.....:o

it pushed in the corner of the passenger side rear bumper....i am calling around to get estimates right now....

maaco can repair the dent for like 450.....i spoke with toyota parts and he mentioned that the bumper is a 3 piece bumper and the part i need would be 154.....i contacted the body shop that toyota uses and was told if it is indeed a 3 piece bumper cover that its 154 and they could match the paint perfectly etc.

so can anyone confirm that it is a 3 piece bumper cover? i think just replacing it if that is the case would be equal or less than the maaco repair (they heat the plastic, pop it out, repaint the entire bumper) and even after all that there could be a bit of wrinkling....its kinda on the bottom of the bumper and not REAL noticeable.

any thoughts?

I don't see any seams in mine that would make it look like it's 3 pieces... The textured piece of plastic on the top is definitely a separate piece - that's called a "bumper pad", but the painted part looks like 1 piece all the way from wheel to wheel.
Any idea where the seams might be?

the bumper was redesigned for 06 model and is not compatible with 03-05. it is one piece design. i had pretty much the same accident and the corner of rear bumper got pushed in as a result. but it miracuoulsly poped back out in a matter of hours. maybe yours was pushed in deepr than mine did. have you tried to pop it out from the inside with a light hammer or something? if the plastic is not broken or torn, worth a try i think.

Yeah I know for a fact the 03-05 bumpers in the rear are 3 piece but I'm not sure with the 06. Like neowig said, the 06 rear bumper was changed so it doesn't appear it is a 3 piece now.
