Question about 1st Syn oil change

Changed from mobile1 clean 5000 5w30 to Mobile1 truck & suv 5w30 full syn. I have about 3k on the oil now and it looks pretty dark on the dip stick. I changed the filter after the 1st 1k mi on the syn. Should I change it again @ 5k? I was hoping to go 7k between changes. I guess what I am asking is, is it dirty because the syn has cleaned that much build up out of my motor, and should I change it to get the debris out? I had 102k on the motor when I changed to the syn. Thanks fellas.

Change it earlier if it makes it right in your mind. I would just flush it with cheaper oil, then fill with M1 right away and be done for 6 month or 7,500 miles.

With 102k I would do 2-3 5000 mile oil change intervals with synthetic before doing an extended one.
