Question about a Specific 2002 Sport

Hey guys. Been a LONG time since I was on here as I sold my 99 runner and FJ 60 quite a few years ago.

After driving trucks I'm considering going back to a runner but would appreciate some advice. What I would be looking for is rather specific. My ideal vehicle would be the following

2002 SR5 Sport in Silver or gray (possibly white). A 2.5" quality lift (like OME)with off road tires and rims to match. Automatic transmission and under 200,000 miles. No roof racks aside from stock racks, clean non smoker interior. ARB or SLEE bumpers are a nice plus but not required. The main thing is the maintenance of the vehicle. I am a bit of a maintenance nazi and change fluids WAY before they are due. No rust is also on that list.

I said specific. lol What should I expect to pay for the above rig if I can even find it. Thanks again for the feedback and have a great day.

I guess it doesn't have to be a sport model but man the hood scoop makes the 4 runner look SO much better. It's not a deal breaker, just something I like.

So when you say "a lot" what do you mean exactly?

Where are you from...? Location is HUGE when talking price. My 4Runner was $10.5k here in the PNW, but would have probably pulled much less in the midwest. It was a CLEAN 1999 Sport, all dealer maintained, with 90k miles. I am sure the Supercharger added to the price, but the guy was asking $12.5k.

If it had under 100k, I would be surprised if someone around here was asking less than $15k. Would it sell at that price? Probably. But it may take awhile.

I suspect my location is a bit of a hindrance. I'm in Missouri. Just to clarify, I was open to runners over 100,000 miles, just hoping for less than 200,000 if that makes a difference. I also don't care to have the supercharger.

To me, What you paid isn't outrageous but it is on the higher end of sane. Lol.
 
That is basically my 4Runner except for color.

I paid $7,700 and I believe that to be a steal anywhere in the country. Mine had 157xxx miles on it
The previous owner also handed me all receipts and maintenance records since 2004 that was over 3" thick in a folder.
So I would say anything below $8000 is an excellent price, but would not doubt seeing one like you want in great condition for over $9000 as fairly common.

That was the range I was thinking it would fall under. I guess if I could find the color/trim/maintenance records I want, I can add the tires, lift, etc later. You provided an excellent post. Thank you

Looks like I may need to put some feelers up there for a "willing to buy" !

If the hood scoop is the only part of the package that you like, then it's not too much more to add one after the fact. Will help widen your options by quite a bit.
